Your first denture

We are here to help you. It’s our privilege to do so and we want you to feel welcome and comfortable as we guide you through this process.

If the time has come, that the best decision is to extract your some or all of your remaining teeth, you will likely require an immediate denture, I like to call them immediately placed dentures. Meaning the denture is placed immediately following the extraction(s) of the teeth to ensure dignity and healing.

The idea of getting dentures can be a little intimidating at first, but it’s important to remember that with the right solutions, they can transform your life for the better.

We understand how the loss of your natural teeth can impact your life and confidence. We strive to create dentures that suit you and compliment your appearance.

For this process, your denture is made to be ready to place at the time of the extractions, which allows you to avoid being without teeth during the healing process.

The fabrication of your denture involves taking impressions of your mouth while your natural teeth are still present. We are then able to use those impression to form dental stone models of your teeth and gums to fabricate your new denture.

If you prefer not to have a similar look with your dentures as you have with your natural teeth, that is not a concern, we can design your new smile with your input.

how do you know how to make the dentures when my natural teeth are still in my mouth?

Often when your natural teeth are extracted, your denture is immediately inserted at the same appointment

Most people ask us “how do you know how to make the dentures when my natural teeth are still in my mouth?” This is an excellent question. Discussions with the dentist/dental specialist who will extract your teeth is imperative.

Often when your natural teeth are extracted, your denture is immediately inserted at the same appointment. With this technique, you will avoid having to go without teeth while you go through the healing process.

During the healing period, your gums and bone will re-contour to a smaller size, as the tooth sockets fill in. Temporary linings or tissue conditioners will be required.

At the completion of the healing period, a permanent reline or a new denture may be fabricated to ensure a comfortable and accurate fit.

We will advise you if an immediate denture best meets your needs.
